Meditech Magic 5.2 Release
Our blood bank source is Gulf Coast Reginal, Houston, Texas, and we are only a
blood transfusion service,to say the least, very confused with all this to what
is actually needed to be compliant with the new ISBT128. Meditech says we are
to obtain site codes from ICCBBA, site appears to require a licence, where are
you all getting the needed codes for destination, blood type and product
dictionary?
For the products we modify (thawed ffp, pooled plts and cryo, and red cell
aliquots) what/where are you getting these labels as presently we use a
pre-printed label with no BAR Code, is the bar code required with this ISBT128?
If BAR code is required on the modified where will this be scanned in to
Meditech? With all the above you see we are a mess and the only thing we have
that we know will or should work is new scanner to read the ISBT128 bar code.
Thanks for any and all input on this.
