Script Logic has a free script (for Meditech specifically!) to do this on
their web site..... basically if the printer supports noise (with a Bell
included) you can send the ASCII command to activate it in your reports.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Magic 5.53;audible device attached to lab label printer?

Wondering if anyone has any information on a device that we can attach to our
Lab STAT label printer that will make some type of noise when the printer
prints labels. We did have a device attached to the printer through a serial
termserver; now the label printer is on a digi IP termserver and the device we
had before does not work.

So, I’m hoping someone has a device that is connected to a label printer that’s
connected to a digi IP termservier that makes some type of sound when a label
prints.

Thanks in advance for any information you can pass on to me. –Joyce.
