We are Live with eMAR and are having some issues with meds, mostly
anticoagulants, auto discontinuing and then they're just gone. When we were
using the paper MAR it would remain there because it wasn't really
discontinued. The nurse would realize she didn't have it and call the pharmacy
looking for it and we would tell them they need a re-order. The nurses are
running the Expired Med report and putting a note on the patient's chart for
the doctor but sometimes this just doesn't work. I've tried the Renewal
routine using the prompts in the Drug Type and Customer Defined parameters and
I can't count the issues I found with that, unless I'm doing something
incorrectly. I was wondering what other facilities are doing?
Thanx, Valerie
