When a patient is ordered Pneumococcal vaccine or Flu vaccine, the order
reads to give on the day of discharge. When we receive the order, we bill
for 1 and send to the floor. This is all and good except that when a patient
is transfered, nursing doesn't know that the med is in the refrigerator and
so it doesn't get transfered. Currently, we don't use transfer labels, but
my thought is to create a unique order type for vaccines, associate a
transfer label with this order type in the CDP, and if the patient was
transfered, a transfer label would print for just the vaccines. Does this
seem feasible? Has anyone done something like this before?
Thanks,
Charlie
