If you want to have separate specimen number on the label you could use
order lab link test in Rule dictionary. The code is:
[f lord lab link test](1,"RENF");
Replace RENF with your own lab test mnemonic. Once you have created this
rule go to that lab test in lab test dictionary and type "Y" on the
"Edit Order Rule?" field on the page one and type the mnemonic of the
order rule you have created.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] In need of a rule to create new spec#

I am looking for some assistance in creating a rule to create a new
spec#/barcode# for a test in our chem department. It has been forever
since I have had to place a new rule in the system and I am not familiar
with the different screens since our last update. If someone could
share some insight on how I can accomplish this, it would be greatly
appreciated.  TIA
