We are looking to automate a way to monitor and warn if a patient has received a maximum daily dose of a selected medication. Specifically an issue arose recently regarding Tylenol. What complicates matters is when a patient is on multiple Tylenol containing products. How do we monitor and then warn nursing that a maximum daily amount has been administered within a given time frame? We are live with our eMARs house wide and do have warnings display in our label comments but this in no way assures anything. We also have Pyxis 3000 profile house wide. Is it possible to render a medication unavailable if an established max has been pulled form Pyxis? I would like to hear how others have addressed (automated?) this issue. Cheers...Mike
