Evidently, with the new Meditech operating system, our old hand-helds (Data
General) that we use for vitals, etc, will no longer work with the new
operating system and will need to be replaced.
With the e-MAR in the near future, I was wondering if anyone is aware of a
device that will perform numerous functions, since we don't want our nurses to
have to carry around numerous devices.
Is anyone aware of a device that will do scanning for BMV, allow the input of
vitals, read RFID, serve as a PDA or pocket PC, allow all e-MAR functions to be
performed on it, and serve as a phone and/or paging device. I know that there
probably isn't something that will do all of these, but if there is one device
that allows the input of vitals plus as many of the other functions as
possible, please let me know what is out there. I am, from a previous post,
aware of scanners that will do RFID and scanning. Basically, we're just trying
to see what's out there.
Thanks,
Charlie
