You can also do this with a macro if the command tail is to long

This is the macro: The first argument A, opens the Internet explorer, The
second argument B, opens the URL, the D(34) removes the quotes, otherwise
you get a page cannot be found error message.

"J:\MT\Iexplore.exe"^A,
D(34)_"https://survey.moreheadassociates.com/index.asp?project=mnstry06"_D(3
4)^B,
%Z.dos.link.no.file(A,B),
EXIT;

Menu command:

Routine #?     100        MHC SURVEY
Activity Log text?         MHC SURVEY
DPM.procedure? Z.link.to.other
Appl.menu?
Arguments? {"MIS", "MIS.zcus.is.shell.M.mhc.survey",0} Be sure to end with
a ,zero.

Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] On-line policies

Our policies are electronic, on our intranet page. (Almost) anything can be
placed on a Magic menu, if you have a short (less than ?35 characters)
command tail. A link I have to go from my Magic NPR menu to the Meditech
website looks like this:

Routine #?     999        MEDITECH'S WEB SITE
Activity Log text? MEDITECH'S WEB SITE
DPM.procedure? Z.link.to.shell
Appl.menu?
Arguments?     {"http://www.meditech.com/"}

You've just GOT to do this, it will save you SO MUCH time! :) No more
launching IE, choosing Favorites and then choosing Meditech...

A similar technique can open program executables.....
Routine #?     201        Microsoft Office Shortcut (Z.dos.link.no.file)
Activity Log text? Microsoft Office Shortcut (Z.dos.link.no.file)
DPM.procedure? Z.dos.link.no.file
Appl.menu?
Arguments?     {"D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSOFFICE.EXE"}

or to specific documents
Routine #?     202        Specific Excel Doc. (Z.link.to.shell)
Activity Log text? Specific Excel Doc. (Z.link.to.shell)
DPM.procedure? Z.link.to.shell
Appl.menu?
Arguments?     {"J:\Pharmacy\CUS_BAR.XLS"}

Although the above are subject to your system administrators changes of
names or shortcuts during logins.

I can also easily link in the clinical areas ... under References. This is
driven by the Clin References on the MIS User menu, my home page link looks
like this:

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] On-line policies

Our hospital is looking for a better product to have our policies on-line
and available at both facilities. We want to be able to search all policies
when entering in a specific word. Ideally, it would be easy to enter and
edit policies, since they change frequently. Could it interface with
Meditech so nurses could access from their menu??

Any information on this subject would be appreciated.
