You could default lab values/query results into a query on the Med Admin Cds for the appropriate meds:
Example Med is Digoxin:
You default the last dig level onto the screen and the nurse records the
current/last pulse rate.
So you would be able to write reports to trend/graph this
information....This info can also be included on the NUR PROCESS
FLOWSHEET (viewable in PCI by anyone)
Example:
For Insulin Med Administration, we default the last bedside glucose
value and record the units given, these are both admin queries...related
to this med administration. We have custom reports that list med
administrations and any query related data...

Look at creating a NUR Process Flowsheet format. You can combine med
admin and lab/query results (and graph the values if you wish to)...

You might also look at assigning appropriate PHA.DRUG.lab.test.groups in
the PHA DRUG DICT page 4 for us:
This will help the caregivers when administering the meds, but may not
help physicians or someone else reviewing the data at a later time?
PHA.DRUG.lab.test.group (Standard Doc)

If ordering or administering this medication is
contingent upon a LAB test result, identify the
LAB test
view group that includes the test.

Note: If you enter a test group for this
medication, you
cannot enter a PCI group sort.
After you enter a test group, you can define the
conditions in which the system displays test
results at
the following prompts:
* Auto-Disp at Order?
* Auto-Disp at Admin?
* Auto-Disp at Verify?
When a user orders, administers, or verifies
this
medication, the system displays test results as
long as
all of the following conditions are met:

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Trending of medication doses and query/labs
How have you accomplished displaying trending of electronically captured
dose administrations and the query or lab values associated with them
from the eMAR for care providers?
Our physicians are looking for an easy way to monitor /correlate these
values.
Thanks,
Carol
