Assuming that you are accurately changing the AWP as they come on the invoice, there have been SIGNIFICANT reductions in AWP over the last 5 years. Some companies have gotten in trouble for "inflating" the AWP so they are getting more realistic. If you have FirstDataBank, make sure you are using the BLUEBOOK value from them as it is the AWP we are all used to. However, they are going to stop reporting this in the next year or so. We have to constantly monitor any reductions in AWP to possibly adjust our charge formulas. I download the data before updating drugs by FSV then comparing after. HTH.

Have you any of you had to explain this? If so what did you determine. Several of us are working on this and cannot determine why revenue is dropping from year to year. We charge by AWP markup. Several drugs are going generic so therefore the AWP is less and the patient charge is less. Have any of you found solutions that pertain to how the computer is charging?
