We had our MIS support person change our default Provider look-up to the
expanded view. So that you can see the Provider Group, Telephone #,
and ABS service. This almost always helps in picking the right one.

Thank you,
Tracey

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] FW: Provider Dictionary

Problems are being reported at our facility regarding OE users selecting
the incorrect provider from the provider dictionary with the impact
being results/reports/consults being forwarded to wrong providers. The
issue is linked to providers with same last names and providers who
would have had the same mneumonic so one is slightly altered.

Our dictionary is setup  as:

*       SMIJO      SMITH, JOHN

*       SMICH      SMITH, CHRIS

*       SMITJO    SMITH, JORDAN

We would appreciate any suggestions for either the provider dictionary,
flags to users, any change in how providers are selected, etc, etc. How
are others facilities ensuring correct providers are always selected?

Thank-you,

Peggy Kelly Andrews
