I have been testing with LSS over the past few days with the set up of the 837 for Medicare for our clinics. We have run into the issue of the Insurance Type codes. I wanted to see how others are handling this. I know there are two options . The first being you can add all of the insurance mneumonics on page 2 and then enter the type code that goes with that insurance. My question is who did that in your organization or did you assign the same Insurance Type code across the board with the exception of Medicaid? LSS has also shown me another option where they have added a customer defined screen for users during the registration process to choose the appropriate insurance type codes. That really isn't an option for us because we don't think they would "know" this information. I would appreciate any assistance or any comments that pertains to the set up of this. Thanks a bunch!
