Hello
We have an audit team for the observation patients that also assigns the
IV therapy/infusion time. Our coding department is part of our audit
team and they also charge all other claims that should come through the
system. We review the MAR and the nursing notes for this information.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Infusion charging.

Due to the new regulations, we are now able to charge observation
patients a charge based upon the length of an IV infusion IF we document
a start and stop time. Is there anyone out there that is doing this
either through NUR or the eMAR process? Or, any other way for that
matter?

Thanks so much for your responses! Diane
