Wondering if anyone has a customization or has devised a clever mechanism for alerting users as they select an inpatient in the Meditech system that there is another inpatient with the same last name? We have a failure mode and effects analysis team working on issues associated with blood transfusions, and they feel that this could help minimize errors in this arena. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
