Hello,
We are a Magic 5.5.2 lab just starting to switch over to xyplex for our lab
instrumentation. We have decided to work on the Bactec 9240 first, which may or
may not be the best choice to start with but we have done so because it is not
currently interfaced and testing would not interfere as much with regular
production.

After wiring and setting up every thing according to the specs we could find,
we initially had a "cannot open to port" message (or about average for an
initial interface attempt). After rechecking everything we got a device watch
message that according to Meditech was indicative of a mismatch between the
instrument settings and Meditech. We adjusted some of the settings and have
gone back to getting the "cannot open to port" message. Further adjustments
have not enabled us to get past this point.

So...could anyone who has sucessfully interfaced the Bactec 9240 to xyplex help
us with what your settings are and/or provide any other pointers that might
help us get this interface working?

Meditech suggested that we start with an easier interface, like the Clinitek
500. We would appreciate any help on this too (JIC). Thanks in advance for your
assistance.
