Brandon,

I haven't taken the time to look at the report, but - when I'm writing
out of BAR - I always use an index. My usual index is either the
bar.acct.adm.ser.date.index or the bar.acct.discharge.date.index. Even
when writing a report that may not depend on one of these indexes, I
have added the index anyway and instructed the user to make use of it.
For example, one set of reports is set to look at @txn.ser.date, which
does not have an index; I use both @bar.adm.ser and @txn.ser.date in the
selection criteria, and have cautioned the user to select a starting
@bar.adm.ser date that is about a month older than the starting
@txn.ser.date in order to catch all likely patients. This way, the
report runs within my lifetime.

So far it is only taking about 25 minutes to run completely since I am
only selecting on a single agency but then again we have only been live
with Meditech for 3 years. The report works for now but I know that I
have to find a better solution for down the road but I really needed
something to get out to the agency. I would like to keep the same
format but if you have any suggestions for making it faster without
changing the format I would really appreciate it. Thanks,

You must not have many accounts in your B/AR. This would take forever to
run in ours.

Your report examines every account based on the index and selections you
are using...

I am attaching the source code of the BAR report I had asked for help
for. Thanks for all the input and responses. The report I am sending
is now exactly what the agency wants. I hope this may help out someone
else down the road in not spending as much time as I did working on one.
Thanks again,
