Jeff - I've noticed that FDB doesn't have all of the possible environmental
allergies such as dogs, cats, bees, etc. Do you create these as the need
arises? I'm thinking of how we handle this once nursing starts using this
for documentation of allergies. I've created an allergen of "MISCELLANEOUS"
where we can enter things in the text field for which there are no allergens
on the FDB tape. I guess one could run a regular report of who had this and
add the allergens that were in the free text and then change to that for
each person.

Hi, Janice. We are MAGIC 5.5.2.
When we moved to the 1B allergy model for MAGIC, all the environmental
and food allergies were loaded in from FirstData into the MIS Allergen
dictionary and available for use in the modules. HTH.

We are looking at EDM and implementing coding allergies via RXM for the
whole house Currently we have a multiple for drugs, food and "other" as
well as a single Y/N for Latex
If we have nurses focusing on the routine in RXM we will need to create
"allergies" for non drug items
What can I do for dietary.. the current free text food allergy field in
the parameters will no longer exist!
Can any start me in the correct direction. I'm having trouble seeing the
forest for the trees!!
