We have been doing Nursing Homes for 14 years now on Meditech, before thay had an Auto-Discharge feature. We had Meditech do a custom program to discharge all REG RCR accounts at midnight on the last day of each month, and re-register them, usually by 1am on the 1st day of the month. The program copies all the previous diags in B/AR as well as all our queries on page 6 of the REG RCR registration, which contain all the patients standing orders. From there we must manually enter all the orders for that month.(4 hrs work-approx 900 beds) We tried to get an estimate from Meditech to do that as well, but when they were up to $30,000 and still counting for the custom, we told to forget it !
