Could you set up MCD as a fee schedule on that procedure to charge a different price like 0.00 and the CPT information would still show?

I have been working with Meditech for 6 weeks on a charge rule written in lab that will send the test to BAR but apply a $0.00 charge and then allow for the CPT code to cross to ABS—because we will be maintaining the results of the tests so ABS has to code the record. The latest rule we tried sends a general bill code to BAR with one description—reference test-no charge and a zero dollar amount. The problem is that BAR can’t see the test and there is no associated CPT code. Has anyone out there successfully written a rule (in either BAR or LAB) that displays the test and CPT code in BAR, but a zero dollar amount for a specific financial class? Hopefully without writing a rule for every test in the LAB dictionary….
