We have the same printers and Magic and have never had any problems. We have six I class all together and the only issues we have are users turning down the brightness on the displays and the paper sensor getting pushed too far to the back of the printer.
I would suspect the Magic system and not the printers since you have the same issue on two printers, unless you have four and the other two are working fine. What do you do to get them working again? Is it possible that the port on the switch is causing you problems? If resetting the printers is what you are doing to get it working again, I would disconnect the network cables, wait 15 seconds and then reconnect them to see if it reinitiates the port on the switch to test that theory. Essentially when you reset the printer you are doing this as well, this will narrow down the ports as a possibility. It is just odd that you would have the same problem develop on two printers from a power hit. Ross Ross M. For the past month we have been experiencing intermittent problems with our label printers. We have 2 Datamax I class that we have been using since June of 06. They have worked just fine until we had a hard downtime about a month ago. When the system came back up, the only lingering problem concerned printing issues. The lab did not experience any of these problems. Now, about once a day the printers (both of them) will cease to print. The print queue shows the jobs waiting. MIS will clear the queues and cancel jobs, and many times the printers will be ok for a while-but sometimes you can't even force print labels. Meditechs solution----set the printers up as local. Has anyone experienced anything similar or maybe have a solution?
