I was incorrect on the second statement. The UDS-10s are directly on the wire, not feeding into a Digi. On the first item, that's a revelation -- I wonder if we've been over-killing trying to build customized cables. Not being the network person, but the software guy, I've found during this hook-up that the significant issues in communicating ultimately were the Meditech and LH500 settings. Not the cabling. The next time we're setting up an analyzer, I'll take your standardized approach and see if that gets us there. You have a lot more analyzers than we do, so your expertise is appreciated. No Problem; two things confused me in the original statement below: 1. You use special cabling for your analyzers with a UDS-10? a. One of the beneficial reasons we went with the UDS-10's is so that we could use standard, off the shelf, serial cables. We have done this with all our 40 or so analyzers without any issues. We don't have any custom cabling anywhere. 2. Your comment: "we use that for several of our analyzers, on it's way into a Digi term server" made me wonder if you have the UDS-10 directly on the wire or had it feeding into a Digi. Ours is also a UDS-10. We did get it working. Seems like perhaps we need to recycle it after they do a complete power-down and restart on the LH500. Not sure ultimately if that was the issue, but it got it working. We also had some download codes incorrect on the Meditech side. Thanks for the help!! I was encouraged with the feedback to see how many people are using Lantronix, and how many LH500s and LH750s are out there! Makes me fell less alone in the world. Have a good week-end, Gary! What kind of Lantronix are you using - we use a UDS-10 that goes directly to our network and we have no problems with any of our analyzers. Thanks, Janet. We finally got everything aligned, but this is excellent information. 256 helps; our LH500 emulates an LH750, but we don't have some of the control options that apparently are available on the actual LH750. I'll keep this info (and the other responses I got back) in my analyzer folder! Anybody in L land interfacing to a Beckman-Coulter LH500? We've been trying to get our bidirectional interface going (we had a Act 5 diff before that), I had stuff flowing in test last week, then it mysteriously ceased to function. We've checked cables; our Beckman maintenance guy was here, restarting the machine last week. So we thought we just needed to restart the various components in the communication chain. No luck. We're Magic 5.5 SR2. We're interfacing through a Lantronix device (we use that for several of our analyzers, on it's way into a Digi term server), but Meditech has no advice about the cabling on that. We've always been able to get them working using something close to the Digi diagrams...Any advice there is also wonderful! Thanks!
