We have placed Billing access from ITS onto the Nursing's Order Entry Desktop The Unit Clerk on the Nursing Units enter the supply charges from the stickers upon Patient Discharge. There is a bar code scanner located at every nursing station
The unit clerk enters the patient information then scans the bar codes off of the supply labels to enter charges. We have been doing this since we went up with Meditech in 2003.
