We are in the process of revamping the way we do patient charges for supplies used. At present we use the sticker method with a central supply inventory on each unit and manually entering patient charges for supplies from the stickers placed on a charge card. We want to move to using barcode scanners for this instead of placing stickers on a charge card for each patient and then upload those charges into Meditech. Is there anyone using the scanner method and uploading charges into Meditech?
Also, we are building a new patient tower and will have a small inventory in each patient room. Has anyone had experience with this type set up for supplies?
