Yes - 5.61 - we had plenty of problems with this. Someone mucked around with
the systax checker (my attitude is to get rid of it) and there were problems
with parenthesis use, the use of @Add, brackets, and confusion with
numerical/logical operators such as * and & (which were thought to be
prefixes). It's the usual issue - protecting us from writing into our own
database, and protecting us from making syntax errors above and beyond the
common ones. Of course, they tried to fix it. Our task is 5149034, and some
of the DTSs involved (spawning as quickly as guppies - since every change seems
to cause a new problem) include NPR 3620, NPR 3657, NPR 3628 - and who knows
what else. Mostly, it seems, you have to tolerate this and fix it on a case by
case basis.

We went LIVE with 5.6 v1 a couple of weeks ago. I have found a change
with the NPR report writer that is really irritating.

SOME & (AND) statements don't pass syntax checker.

For example:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]"OE.F110"]="Y"&(@response["OE.F111"]="Y") 1}

Yields the following error message: "MAGIC Syntax Error in VAL"

"OR" statements still work:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"OE.F110"]="Y"!(@response["OE.F111"]="Y") 1}

I also tried:

VAL=IF{/SUB#5S="RT"&(@response["OE.F149A90"]="Y") 1}
and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"OE.F149A90"]="Y"&(/SUB#5S="RT") 1}
and
VAL=IF{/SUB#5S="RT"&(/SUB#5S="RT2") 1}
and received the error message.

These are OK though:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"OE.F149A90"]="Y"!(/SUB#5S="RT") 1}
and
VAL=IF{/SUB#5S="RT"!(/SUB#5S="RT2") 1}

I did try MIS.SCREEN and this was OK:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]&(@ee.resp.req=1) 1}

I went back to our 5.4 directory and the "&" statement does work there.

I created a task with MEDITECH a week or so ago, but don't have a reply.

Has anyone else seen this? Better yet, did you get it fixed?
