Hello Meditech-L,

We are implementing CPOE (5.5 SR2 magic). We have discovered an issue
with our medical staff by-laws. They require all NPs and PAs to have
their orders co-signed. The functionality works if the allied health
professional is working with one MD. But if they are not the waters get
very muddy. The order management functionality allows for one other
provider to be input if a nurse is taking an order from an NP or PA. If
this person is working with an entire group they would like anyone in
the group to co-sign the order.

So my question:

How are other hospitals handling allied health providers entering
orders. Do they require co-signatures on all orders? If so how do you
manage this.

Input would be appreciated.

Thanks, Lesley Bailey
