Rob, we did it a little differently. Because sometimes equipment description
names change in our facility, we decided to use our property tag id as the one
thing that would remain constant on our items. Then in the MM equipment
dictionary, the tag # is entered in the Equipment field. In Task+, we built
a CDS with the attributes below. This way our people just have to enter the
equipment id and all other information flows into the task. I hope this is
useful to you, I know it doesn't address your posting entirely. If the piece
of equipment is not ours and does not have a property tag, we use the serial
number as its id.
