James,
You did not say what version you were, but when we went from 5.4 to
5.5sr 3, we experienced a big slowdown and needed these DTS's and it
helped.
Related DTS:
POM: Performance Improvement Misc. Changes.
Meds cannot be entered in OE Enter Orders via Order Sets
POM Rules invoked in Order Set prior to selecting
procedure
Delay in loading Order Sets with cds's in OE Care Area
Enter Orders routine
Prevent potential IST issue in OE dictionary filers
Allergies checks are being rerun even if the coded
allergies have not changed.
PHA: Response time issues checking interactions
POM: Response time issues checking interactions
Z.switch.appl can leave memory based slash file on wrong
machine
Z.switch.appl causing excess network traffic
I also saved a post from the L-List of another hospital having problems
and I have copied it here. Hope this helps, Julie Bibler

======================================
Hi,
We are a Magic EDM site and we upgraded to 5.5 SR2 in May. The response
time for order set loading went off the chart especially order sets with
Meds. Apparently this is a widely encountered problem with both EDM and
POM. Meditech has responded with many DTS's. Last week all the fixes
were loaded into the Live system and we have experienced a dramatic
improvement. A Cardiac order set with about 15 meds went from a load
time of 1 minute 15 seconds to 3 seconds.
The DTS's involved for our site were:
OE 10226 - POM: No cart assoicated with room PHA orders can be
entered
OE 10684 - POM: Performance Improvement Misc. Changes.
OE 10456 - Free Text PRN Reason not loading with Order Set+
OE 10536 - POM: Excessive delays when compiling med ordersets+
OE 10989 - Meds cannot be entered in OE Enter Orders via Order
Sets
OE 10834 - POM Rules invoked in Order Set prior to selecting
procedure
RXM 1304 - Allergies checks are being rerun even if the coded
allergies
OE 11001 - Prevent potential IST issue in OE dictionary filers
MIS 8132 - Delays with clinical review
NUR 8050 - STATUS BOARD: Improve response time
NUR 8004 - Improve response time on Status Board.
NUR 8053 - Status Board always sets up PHA prefixes
NUR 8011 - Status board: Improve refresh time
PHA 6995 - Resub PHA 5522: Long compile times in eMAR
PHA 7020 - Slow response time caused by a switch appl to LAB
PHA 7123 - Nursing Status Board: Next Med Column Compiles Slowly
PHA 7349 - Old Allergy, Interaction, and duplicates appearing on
patient
PHA 7187 - CANCEL UNV RXS toolbox parameter is not working
PHA 7352 - Improve response time for 1) eMAR Compiles and 2) NUR
Status
PHA 7363 - PHA: Response time issues checking interactions
PHA 7280 - POM: Excessive delays when compiling med ordersets
PHA 7372 - POM: Response time issues checking interactions

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] AOM and POM Slowness
Ever since we implemented AOM and POM Meditech modules into our live
environment our doctors have been complaining of slowness mainly in the
Emergency Department. Has anyone else experienced these problems?
