I filled a position similar to what you describe in my former hospital, but as a Systems Analyst. I was the "go to" person for any Meditech and/or OV programs, as well as work flow, automation and efficiency issues. I'm not sure I still have a copy of that job description, but it was similar to the one I had when I was in IT, performing those same functions for the financial division as well as other parts of the hospital. I was in PFS and Revenue Management for 3+ years as a liason between PFS, Patient Access, HIM, Revenue Management and any other department that interacted with them. While not in a "manager" position, I was considered a member of the management team. If I can find my old job description, I'll contact you for your fax information or scan it and email it to you.
