Other than nurses, what disciplines are allowed to enter a verbal (by which I mean telephone) order in a chart that was issued to them by a physician? I am accustomed to all disciplines being able to take orders, each within its own scope of practice. But I'm working at a facility now that is having a debate about the allied disciplines PT, OT, ST and perhaps RDs as well. I said I would see what I could find out from other places. Thanks.
