Hi,

Are you Client Server or Magic?

Anyway, my hospital is Magic and as such I can only provide help for
reports written in this system.

In respect to the attached file - I could not open it in the NPR viewer.

It is also better to share the reports that you loaded to your computer
to add the extension ".npr".

If you want to know what the NPR viewer is and where you can download
it:

http://www.thomast357.com/magic_nprv.htm

http://www.thomast357.com/npr_viewer.zip

I have attached one of my reports with those fields and macro - so you
can tweak it.

Did you also add to your report the intervention from where the query
comes from?

For this you use:

int.base EQ "number of the intervention" from
NUR

Did you also add that you are looking for inpatients only?

For this you use:

                Patient's.status                EQ          "ADM IN"
and/ord "ADM INo"

You have to be very careful when you copy macros from somebody else
(text file, email, etc) in your macro - make sure that you go to the end
of every line and do "F10", sometimes invisible characters exist here.

In addition, some macro lines proceed further than you can effectively
see in the macro itself - the only solution I am aware of is uploading
the macro and using the NPR viewer or notepad.

In respect to printing the data twice or more, a possible cause is that
indeed that this query resides on two or more interventions and a such
it is printing for every single intervention the last entered data that
was not undone.

To resolve this, you can either look for the query in only one
intervention, or if you want truly the last possible documentation is to
put this in the trailer for the patient (sort field).

Marc,

I am brand new to NPR (only had the beginning class) and have written
the attached report and put in the xx.ck.most.recent and it worked
great. However, I could not get the xx.ck.undo to go in, it kept
giving me the dreaded syntax error. What are the ..... for?

Also, I would be greatly appreciative for the macro for the check if
charted on different interventions. Right now, it prints the information
twice if charted on a different intervention. Thank you so much for
your help.

Hi Karen,

You really shouldn't be writing your nursing reports from ADM but rather
from NUR.PC.WORK.

ADM provides you with the last filed data and does not update with
undoes and edits, or even blanks.

You will need this DPM:

Detail DPM      NUR.PC.WORK                 Detail Segment
nur.int.documented.activity

Suggested index:

Index DPM       NUR.PC.WORK                 Index File
nur.date.doc.x

Sort Fields:

                xx.ck.undo                          EQ          1

xx.ck.most.recent           EQ          1

Calculated fields:

                xx.ck.undo

                                DAT=FREE

JFY=L

LEN=1

[EMAIL PROTECTED],,,,,@td.act.ctr#"0."_"..99"] "";1}

                xx.ck.most.recent

                                DAT=FREE

JFY=L

LEN=1

VAL=%NUR.PC.WORK.zcus.advance.directives.M.macro.name(

VAL=patient,int.base,int.urn,td.act.date,td.act.time)

                                Change "macro.name" to your chosen name
and file the report; it will syntax checker will generate an error -
however continue and go to option six of the main menu and enter here a
name for your macro and add this code:

                                A^patient,

B^int.base,

C^int.urn,

[EMAIL PROTECTED](td..act.date) 1,

                      [EMAIL PROTECTED](td.act.time) 1,

                                            [EMAIL PROTECTED](act.ctr)#"1."=99;

                                               td.act.date^LDATE,

                                               td.act.time^LTIME}}},

IF{D_E=(LDATE_LTIME) 1};

In addition this only works when the various queries are coming from one
single intervention, since those queries have been filed at the same
time - but there is a solution to this too either through fragments or
another macro.

Yours,

Marc

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] NPR HELP

I'm looking for some words of wisdom in a NPR report in ADM.PAT that
prints a nurse handoff report. I have several fields that are
ccdqr.response values. The problem comes when this query has been
answered on dayshift and then on afternoon shift, the IV or NG, or
whatever it is has been dc'd. When afternoon shift documents, they
leave the query blank because it does not apply. The problem then
becomes the answer still shows on the report but it no longer applies.
Is there any way to tell the report/field that is the query was left
blank, that is a response? Here is what I use in the field:

DAT=FREE
LEN=10
[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ]

I realize this pulls the last documented response, but when documeting
by exception, this causes the problem listed above. Any help would be
appreciated.  Thanks,

Karen Hunter
