Hello all,
We've been using Lantronix UDS-10 single port term servers here for a while now and have found them to be excellent replacements for larger term servers in the Laboratory. We've tested them on terminals and serial port printers as well. Now I'm trying to get them to work with our old DG handhelds. My question is has anyone had any success getting a DG Handheld (5221XB) to work with a Lantronix UDS-10? I've built a cable with what I believe to be the proper pin out, but I think my problem may be a setting in the UDS-10. I set up an Esprit 125c terminal at one point on the UDS-10 and it worked properly. I then went into OPS and set up the proper NUR info for the handheld and then tried to download the NUR application to the handheld. No luck. When I put the DG HH and cable on a RS-232 breakout box the RX and TX signals are "firing" at the appropriate time to indicate data is flowing and the ground wire is hot. I've tried several different settings in the UDS-10, but I'm not meeting any success. I just think I've got a software setting issue on the UDS-10. Before I spend a day or two trying every conceivable combination of settings I wanted to see if someone had already figured this out.
