Hello Sandi,

We are Live with ORM documentation and we just encountered the same
problem that Meditech neglected to mention when they recommended that we
use a new CDS.

Yes, DTS 4040 did fix it so that the old CDS now prints at the end of
the profile instead of in the original location. However, the old CDS
is still not available for viewing via Profile or PCI.

Meditech responded with the following: " SCH DTS 5117 would address the
issue with the info not being viewed in PCI, but as for the profile,
this is currently not a standard function. It can only be viewed via the
Profile Print, which you can print to VIEW."

Hopefully DTS 5117 with fix this. Good luck. Karen

Sandi, I ran into this same thing, luckily we were not live yet. Here
is what meditech told me and the DTS to fix is 4040.
"Replacing CDSs in OR is the same as in NUR. You should not make
direct
edits to an existing CDS that has been documented on in profiles.
Instead, you should make a new copy of that CDS in MIS and make edits
to
the new copy. This leaves the original CDS intact. After you've
created the new CDS, I can link the new CDS to the parameters.
Historical Profiles should print the old CDS under the header of "old
customer defined screens"; this was coded in SCH DTS 4040."

Hi Sandi, We have not gone live with clinical documentation yet, but
have had a CDS for the post-case documentation. We previously had MSM
and I know that we had to come up with alternative ways to keep the
old
values available. I'm wondering if you have the same queries and just
add queries to a new CDS does it lose the documentation from the older
cds? We found in MSM as long as the "queries" existed the values
existed.

I'm interested in hearing what you find out. I'm sure we'll also
investigate this with Meditech also.

Thank you!
Dee

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] ORM issues

I am looking for other users of Meditech's Magic ORM out there. We
went
live Feb 6th this year and I just discovered something very disturbing
today with the module and am curious if everyone else knows and how
you
work around this....In ORM you can select 5 CDS' in your parameters so
you don't have to document from the assessments part in the surgical
profile. Did you know that if you change your CDS at any time to a new
revised one in the parameters even for simple changes, you lose all of
your past documentation on that profile for that section????

We had to add a couple fields to one of the operative CDS' that we
use.
Anything prior to that day is now blank in the surgical profile for
that
section but has a user's mnemonic there to say it was documented but
guess what you can't see the results anywhere! Don't try looking in
PCI
since it is not there either! Great!! Needless to say I called
Meditech
since they never mentioned this "little" detail after all who needs to
see anything that was documented since Live date....
So does anyone else know this and if so how do you deal with this? I
just love the thought of having to use the same CDS for the next 10
years or lose all my data....

Thanks, Sandi
