Those are the names used in our facility. HIS and HIM. Most folks still
call HIM Medical Records.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Informal Survey - What's in a name?

We are contemplating a name change for our department. It is currently
HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, but the department formerly known as
Medical Records changed their name to HEALTHCARE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.
HIS AND HIM - that's just too close and causing some confusion.

What are other IT departments calling themselves?

Thanks!
