We've been using a special LAB facility for years. It doesn't charge (no BAR account) or go to EMR or print reports. We use Lab location PROFICIENCY. It is set up to do an MPI search (to allow BBK and PTH). We do all of our "patient" registrations via Outreach, unless we need to add products. Then we do a short form in ADM. We use the designated doctor TESTMD and designated clinic TESTCLINIC. No others.
The beauty of it is two-fold: You can segregate proficiency testing to this facility, thus unaffecting your real data. A big plus in MIC. You can actually test in LIVE (except for billing). If you work with your ADM consultant make sure they know: MPI but no EMR. I had to test it a few times before they set up just the right combination of parameters.
