At my former hospital, the process was that as returned mail was received in 
PFS, someone there edited the account address fields (usually the second line) 
and also edited the field in demo recall with *****INVALID ADDRESS******.  They 
also changed the ZIP code to 00000 and the state to ZZ.  The statement vendor 
had edits set up to reject anything with the ZIP and state edits so that if a 
correct address wasn't obtained prior to the next statement date, the invalid 
address wasn't used again, wasting postage, etc.  

The problem was that registration wasn't always attuned to these fields and 
didn't always get a correct address (which was a procedural issue), plus the 
demo recall didn't go "backwards" into BAR and didn't update the existing 
account when a correct address was gotten.

You could use a CDS in ADM asking something like "has the address been 
updated?" and then run an NPR report on it to capture the Y responses.

I was wondering if anyone has a good process in Meditech for returned
mail.  What we're looking for is a way to flag accounts that have
returned mail so that ADM & BAR can both see this and get the correct
information if the patient returns for service.
