Staring a Wiki to capture information on Pha 5.6 would be great.
We plan to move to 5.6 next year and lessons learned by others would of
great benefit. Plus I think others could use this for reference when having
issue. Would not mind helping to get it started.

Hi, Mike. Make sure you do a search on the L. There is a lot of info there
on 5.6.

I'll start the list and others can jump in. One of the most useful things I
found was on the Meditech website there is a PHA 5.6 Training manual (not
bad, I might add) that talks about everything. Something we all noticed
here across all modules is that there is a lot of changes that aren't in the
DTSs.

1) There are now PENDING orders. Made for POM and hard for PHA to use.
Could be useful but not.
2) The drug dictionary has moved fields from one screen to another.
3) All drugs are now loaded from the Formulary Service Vendor and exist in
your drug file. They have a flag of Formulary, Non-Formulary and Retail.
Basically Retail are the rest of the items in the drug dictionary you don't
use. It is there for EDM. Therefore, no suspense file. 1 undocumented
lookup is RTN/ in the drug dictionary that allows you to do lookups by NDC.
However, if it is already in your drug dictionary you won't see it on the
screen!
4) When you use an order set, you have a PENDING section to enter through if
you are not going to use pending orders.
5) There are several DTSs you might make sure to get that apply to ALT-IVs
if you use them.
6) Lookups in order entry for drugs are case-insensitive (MT's words). You
can have Meditech run a utility that will make Mixed case entries across PHA
and then you can look up drugs using any case you want (except in the Drug
Dictionary). Works well here now that I have all the DTSs!

Enough for now.

A thought, maybe this is a good thing to start a 5.61 PHA page in the Wiki
and add it all there and everyone can contribute changes that they have
found and then we can just refer people there. Hmmm....

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Meditech 5.61 PHA
We are upgrading form 5.4 to 5.61. I am about to begin testing the Pharmacy
module and was wondering if anyone
would be willing to share their experience. I'm just looking for a brief
rundown of pitfalls and problems that you encountered that I should be in
tune to. FYI: We are currently using Iatric VFS for our eMAR.

Thanks so much...
