Hi all. I am wondering what other hospitals are doing to assure that appropriate personnel are notified of the admission of a palliative care patient. We have a question on Administrative Data screen, but that isn't always answered appropriately. This is especially a problem when a patient was a palliative care patient during a prior visit. The palliative care field doesn't demo recall so staff doesn't always but Y when it should be. Then, sometimes they do put Y for palliative care but forget to generate the referral in OE.
So, my questions to the masses are: (1) Can I set this to be a question during admission? Can I set up this field to recall the last admission value? (2) Can I generate a referral or group of orders based of a query in ADM? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Jennifer K.
