HCGH (www.hcgh.org) is a 200 bed community hospital, located in Columbia, MD - a suburban community located almost exactly midpoint between Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. HCGH is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine organization. Regarding its IT environment, HCGH operates the MEDITECH Magic HCIS - currently on 5.5, SR2 (MEDITECH was originally installed in 1995/96). HCGH is scheduled to receive 5.6, SR2 in September 2007. Some highlights of HCGH's current network and infrastructure environment include: - 70-75 servers (combination of Dell and HP - nearly all are MS Windows, with 2-4 Linux servers as well). - Citrix server farm, comprised of 20-24 servers. - Fully redundant network fiber backbone and Cisco 6500 core switches. - All edge switches, routers, and firewalls are Cisco as well. - Cisco 802.11b wireless network, will be replaced with a Cisco or Meru Networks 802.11 a/b/g wireless network in August/September 2007. - 550-600 desktop PCs, 50-60 notebook PCs, and 500-550 thin client devices.
