On behalf of all IS "newbie's" out there I just want to thank you "experts" for taking the time out of your busy days to share your knowledge. I have really learned a lot by just reading everybody's questions/answers!!!!
Thanks, Susan :-) ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Davis Daniel - Southern Hills Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2007 10:51 AM To: Rost, Kim; [email protected] Subject: Re: [MEDITECH-L] Default attribute not saving value in field whenCDSis filed Kim, It seems you may be confused regarding how/when the various attribute types are evaluated. Attribute types are evaluated in the following order: IFE - this is evaluated as the cursor touches the query, before any input can be entered. DFT - this is evaluated when the cursor stops on the query if the query is blank. FCL - all FCL attributes are evaluated as the cursor leaves the query if there is a new, non nil value in the query. REQI - this is evaluated both as the cursor leaves the query, after all FCL attributes have been evaluated - and once again as user gets the file prompt. REQ - this is evaluated as the user gets the file prompt. If your purpose is to default information for a specific subset of patients I would recommend using the DFT attribute. That handles both display and storage for you. In this case you could use the following attribute. DFT=IF{(@p.ADM.PAT.age^AGE<10!(AGE>60))!(@p.ADM.PAT.sex="M") "N"} However, if you would like the cursor to skip once you have the "N" entered, but stop if there is no "N" you could use the following attribute. Of course this attribute only works for the query NURONPREG. The REQ part requires this query if the cursor stops for user input. IFE=IF{(@p.ADM.PAT.age^AGE<10!(AGE>60))!(@p.ADM.PAT.sex="M") 1, IFE=P(R,S,"N"^/[ANS%0,"NURONPREG"])^#,"";1} REQI=(@p.ADM.PAT.age^AGE<10!(AGE>60))!(@p.ADM.PAT.sex="M") Daniel Davis ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rost, Kim Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2007 7:30 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Default attribute not saving value in field when CDSis filed I have an attribute (see below) on 2 queries (Pregnant NURONPREG and Lactating NURONLAC) that looks at the patient's age and sex and defaults in a "N" as appropriate. The problem I am having is that the value is not being saved in the field when the CDS is filed. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my attribute?
