Hi All,
We are using the dispensing report so that we can track what was
dispensed vs administered. We opened a task with meditech because we do
not want to include manual dispenses. For example, if eye drops are
dispensed as a prn, they may never get administered. Meditech explained
that this is working as designed, but this would require that us to
create a new order type that is set to manual dispense yes and the
pharmacist would have to think about whether it is coming from pyxis or
dispensed from the pharmacy when placing an order. What are other doing
to track dispensing vs administered?
See Meditech's response below:
After testing, researching this issue, as well discussing this issue
with mysupervisor the report correctly includes manual debits. In the
eMAR ReportFormat # 83 ^ # 17 there is a manual dispense field however
this field onlyapplies to the manual dispense field in the Order Type
Dictionary, not manualdebits. If an Rx is eligible to appear on the
report then number of doses dispensed is hard coded to appear on the
report. Have a good day.
