We have those queries (required) on the Administrative Data Screen so
that the answers blows into nursing's CDS's for orders that contain
those queries. The physicians don't even see the query since we can
have unique CDS's for POM Physicians.
Of course this requires that Nursing keeps the Admin Data screen
updated, but they've done pretty good so far!

We have attributes that skip queries for MDs for things like CBN,

transport method, etc. The orders stay UNV until a unit clerk answers

the queries and verifies. We have some custom in place that allows us to

have some queries be required of the MD (reason for exam, etc) but still

keep the cbn-type stuff skipped and leave the order UNV.

Hi,

We are curious as to how other sites are handling the CBN query in the

CPOE

world. Further to that, how are you handling the completion of other

such

queries by the physician? We are looking for best approaches, practices,

etc. Our physicians only want to point, click, and order.

They do not want to be bothered by queries.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thank you!
