we use Continuum, Hypertype and Acusis , in addition to our 15 hospital
transcriptionists.
Acusis is the most easy to use so far, but required an ADT interface. We
use an interface engine ( Summit) that worked
well . We already had a interface feed from our dictatphone software
that we used to send results back to MEDITECH so
we didnt have to pay MEDITECH for it. We have software from Acusis that
lets us view/edit and listen to the dictations, then
we make the modifications and Export each to MEDITECH.
Continuum and Hypertype send us dictations back using secure connections
or encrypted email. We use MEDITECH's
import feature to pull them into the system via ITS. The dictations are
send as MSWORD documents . If there are blanks
we have to open our dictaphone software ( Joblister) and listen to the
dictations separately.
All of them have their quirks but still saving us time in the long run.
We have to look at each dication when it comes back to confirm the
correct patient account number , provider , check
for blanks for incorrect words etc... We have 3 people who are not
transcriptionists who do this part of it. Each person
works on them daily .
We are CS 5.5 sr 2 .

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Outside transcription services
We are looking for a new outside transcription service (we
previously have used TRS) and I would like some feedback from other
hospitals regarding transcription services. Not that it may matter but
we are a C/S 5.5 site.
Thanks,
Dan Hudson
