Some great summarisation Quim.
I have some rushed pre-coffee thoughts...

Thank you all for the fruitful discussion prior to the upcoming CO IRC

Summarizing:

- The MeeGo Community OBS only builds MeeGo targets, all based in open
source components.

This our ideal(istic?) goal.

I've asked for one exception in the name of continuation of the community.
As noted later, Fremantle isn't a MeeGo target, it's not based on OSS.

- Vendor specific OBS must be promoted by the vendors and their specific
communities.
Again, I see vendor specific targets on the MeeGo community OBS.
I'd rather focus on allowing the OSS community ease-of-access to build against commercial targets that rely on vendors commiting to provide free and public build services. Looking at the established foothold of Android and Apple; I'm not sure we in the Maemo/MeeGo OSS community are in a position to demand.

- The MeeGo Community OBS maintainers can establish links to these
vendor specific OBS targets in order to ease development across MeeGo
compatible platforms.
Carsten's proposal puts a much lower burden of "repository" on vendors.

- A link to a Maemo target is also allowed as a one time exception to
ease the transition of the Maemo community to the MeeGo infrastructure.
My personal crystal ball is fuzzy on the topic of Harmattan. But I hope it's an important part of the phasing.

- The MeeGo Extras repositories will host only MeeGo compliant software.
The hosting of specific variants targeting specific devices must be
arranged by the vendors and their specific communities.
I think again we have a blurring betweeen MeeGo.com and MeeGo.community.

.com lives in the reference world.
Community lives in the real world of devices.

David

If we agree on this then the discussion in the CO meeting will be
hopefully clear.

I have a couple of questions but I will start a new thread since they go
a bit too far from David's initial request.
