On maemo.org we call the "important" items News and the whole aggregated list Planet, but obviously MeeGo doesn't need to follow this guideline. Probably something for the Community Office to decide. We can easily configure the service to run under a different name :-) (but of course now that it has been running a bit as "news", there should be a redirect kept up for a while if the address changes) > - keep top level page as is with the promoted items highlighted (don't call > it news in any way though) Yep, there was the request for "sticky" items. > - keep blogs link with all blogs listed http://news.meego.com/blogs/feeds/list/ (though needs a bit of styling and linkage) > - add twitter and events links Yes. Though I wouldn't mix these three content types together. You usually want to show the next events, not the ones most recently published. Mixing news and tweets might make sense, but I'm not so sure of that either. Another thing we may want to have is displaying comments with blog posts that come from systems that support it (comments feed linked from the primary feed). > - do we keep the existing blog posts from meego.com also??? On Maemo we did that. But if we have sticky news items it might not be necessary. Oh, and another item. We need to associate the feeds with their authors. In order to do this, the people who have their feeds aggregated on news.meego.com should log in there at least once. > Mike /Henri -- Henri Bergius Motorcycle Adventures and Free Software http://bergie.iki.fi/ Skype: henribergius Jabber: [email protected] Microblog: http://www.qaiku.com/home/bergie/ _______________________________________________ MeeGo-community mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-community
