Seems like there's a lot of overlap and perhaps duplication of effort
between the Linaro/Ubuntu efforts and those of MeeGo, which also
promises the same kind of "OS intersection point" ... (Qt being
another intersection point: see
http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/568 )

Why can't the same be done for MeeGo handset, such that Android apps
and MeeGo apps are available simultaneously from a MeeGo platform,
using the MeeGo 1.2 security model to subsume Android's security
model? (see also
http://lists.meego.com/pipermail/meego-security-discussion/2011-January/000019.html
). With the goal of being able to run Qt-based MeeGo apps alongside
Android apps, all on the MeeGo platform.

This would fight the "divide and conquer" market fragmentation that is
occurring in the handset/netbook market, which will only get worse
when HP adds WebOS netbooks and handsets into the market.... (

).
