I have a btrfs partition, that has got corrupted in interesting fashion (probably power outage after dumping lots of data on the drive).
btrfsck doesn't detect any errors (i.e. the utility doesn't seem to be that useful). When trying to mount the drive (1.1 meego netbook image), I get this on my terminal: ---------------------- [root@localhost meego]# mount /dev/sdb5 /mnt Segmentation fault [root@localhost meego]# Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314626] last sysfs file: /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/btrfs-1/uevent Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314618] invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314601] ------------[ cut here ]------------ Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314703] Process mount (pid: 1047, ti=c55a2000 task=f6ee4eb0 task.ti=c55a2000) Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314755] Call Trace: Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314707] Stack: Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.315005] EIP: [<c1156613>] add_inode_ref+0x43/0x342 SS:ESP 0068:c55a3c3c Message from syslogd@localhost at Sat Jan 29 12:37:34 2011 ... localhost klogd: [ 266.314924] Code: 5d 08 8b 57 09 8b 4f 0d e8 99 f0 ff ff 85 c0 89 45 ec 0f 84 05 03 00 00 8b 17 8b 4f 04 89 f0 e8 82 f0 ff ff 85 c0 89 45 e4 75 02 <0f> 0b 6b 45 10 19 83 c0 65 89 c2 89 45 f0 8b 45 0c e8 a9 b8 fe --------- I wil appreciate pointers on how to recover my data from the drive :). -- Ville M.
