Hello,

I think I could just do it. I mean: provide fully equiped targets on a weekly basis should not be a to big problem for a cron job. Indeed they are going to be huge, so for long term it would be usefull to push them to some founded webspace or i.e.
some torrent or such. For a start they could life on my private webserver.

The huge advantage will be ability to crosscompile for x86 and arm out of the box (for at least core compliant libs): Just press
run in QtCreator, compile and start / debug directly on device.

We have provided all needed to do this for our own project (*Instructions*: http://wiki.peregrine-communicator.org/display/DEV/Quick+Start ) There you learn how easy and simple application development for meego could be. And it could become even simpler with
fully setuped standard targets.

(no more changeroot, no more qemu arm compiling, no more hacks.)

Best,

- Jeremias

Problem is how we make them materialize and not remain as just ideas

Maybe you can work this out with Mats that works on the compliance
spec? E.g. see how to enforce compliance on the development targets...

Hi,

there is one thing which makes application development on meego "not
an easy starter". This is the leak of complete madde targets.
Yes, the targets delivered by meego are contain the minimal meego
api - true enough. But there is the compliance list.
My opinion is, if meego want to give developers an easy start
targets must deliver all devel packages of all compliance libs.
Otherwise devs need first to think about mic2 and build up there own
targets.

Esp. for open source projects this means: if someone wants to
contribute - he must first either setup a special target or the
project need to provide some approx 400M Files. In the end you have
several targets and earn huge fragmentation and frustrated
developers.

So, please fix this.

Interesting idea... I'll see what the SDK guys have to say.
