The Asus EEE slate w/ i5-470UM&4GB DDR3 1333MHz... seems like a good
platform for more intensive touch-based multimedia and creative apps,
which the ipad II seems to be touting as a major advantage over any
other platform, desktop or tablet (

) ...

Would an i5 @ 1.33 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 1.86 GHz is faster than
the current Atom offerings and would be helpful for such applications
in MeeGo? (Can you leave it at 1.86Ghz when it's plugged in?)

Are there working graphics and touchscreen drivers?? (anybody from
ASUS want to send me one to find out? :-- and while you're at it
redesign it with a pair of 8-16Mp cameras that'll work for 3d HD video
or eye-tracking apps :
http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/lenovo-experiments-with-an-eye-tracking-laptop-at-cebit-2011031/
 :-) ).

I bet http://www.openshot.org/ would run fine under Linux on that
tablet, and might even be more featureful and useful in the long-run
over apple's offerings...
Openshot is all in Python and Gtk:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~jonoomph/openshot/main/view/head:/openshot/openshot.py
//// whereas http://www.kdenlive.org/ is at least Qt based but w/ KDE
dependency.
