The original plan was to ship applifed as prestartd in MeeGo 1.1, but this has now been abandonded for the time being. The meegotouch-prestartd.* files are residual from that.

I could of course repackage and omit the meego/ and debian/ directories from the tar ball, but that would not make much sense from my point of view. The closest thing we have to a pristine source tar ball of a release is the result of 'git archive released/0.20.0' and that does incude the packaging files.

FWIW, for example the source tar ball in the git package in MeeGo Trunk includes a 'git.spec', which is different from the 'git.spec' being used for packaging in OBS, so this is not unheard of.
