same question I asked yesterday
where are these patches in the 1.2 kernel?
We're not supposed to put things into 1.1 before they are in
Trunk/1.2....
2/3rds of the patches could go into 1.2 now- audio and video do work. That said,
as I mentioned in passing conversations something changed in 1.1->1.2 that is
breaking ks8842 w/ lock complaints, general tasklet complaints, and breaking the
transmit/receive queue in full. That breakage is why you've not seen it via 1.2
thus far, breaking up the patchset into just the
yeah your code does not work when debugging is enabled.. that needs
fixing since it points at real bugs....
What makes sense here is an exemption in this particular case- I fully agree
with the purpose behind the process. Our efforts are targetting 1.2, it just
doesn't work there yet- this actually has been the case since initial
integration, 1.1 worked, 1.2 was broked. What we'd like is to get the fixes
out while we're still sorting 1.2.
that does absolute not make sense. We had this conversation 6 months ago
after 1.0, and if you would get this exception, we'll have this exact
same conversation again 6 months from now.
this needs to be fixed for all future versions to be rid of it once and
for all, and THEN go back. Otherwise we keep chasing this crap.
